I have heard from so many nervous moms who want to book their kids or family in for pictures but are afraid that their little darlings will not behave for me (they don’t like pictures! they don’t like strangers! they can’t stay up until sunset or they will turn into monsters!) many a reason, I have heard all the worries!
BUT this is what I do. THIS. IS. WHAT. I. DO.
If you scroll through all of my sessions from this year, with no funny quips from me, you would NEVER be able to pick out the tough nuts I had to crack. You would truly assume that all the kids I see are just INTO pictures, are outgoing and have halo’s just out of camera sight, but you would be wrong!
This is where “what I do!” comes in, I get kids. Truly, I GET them. No judgements from me, kids are young people, they come in all forms and with all sorts of personalities. It never, not once, has stopped me from capturing great photo’s (is it okay to toot my own horn once in a while?? I promise it is rare!)
Bring me your grumps, your painfully shy’s and your mad dashers.
I’m comfortable with a challenge, and funny enough….they can often be my best sessions.
I go home laughing not grumbling. I’ve got this.

WHY am I sharing THIS particular session along with this post? guess š
I adore this mom and her to wild and crazy girls, who did not stop running (or avoiding me, or trying to grab my bum, or giving me various forms of guff) the ENTIRE time we spent together! it was a challenge! but you would never know. I happen to love this whole session and the memory behind each picture sort of makes them all the sweeter.
In the end, kids are whacky, they are loose cannons, they are free. Letting them be themselves is what it’s all about.
Kari Ann, your full session is on it’s way tonight!

plus, outtakes are always fun!
